Instant Quality Analysis
Analyzes whole-slide images in seconds and generates a pixel-level heatmap of clear and blurry zones.
Autonomous Cytology QC
End blurry scans and manual rescans. ScanPilot uses AI to automate quality control, set optimal focus points, and execute automated corrections in real time, with zero human intervention required.

Feedback from laboratory partners using ScanPilot in whole-slide imaging workflows.

“ScanPilot's real-time autonomous quality control process has improved the efficiency of our whole slide imaging workflow and reduced overall turnaround time by assuring high-quality digital cytopathology scans and virtually eliminated the need for re-scans.”
The Reality
More than 1 in 5 cytology slides fail initial scanning in an internal workflow scenario. Variable sample thickness, debris, and traditional scanners without automated Z-stack workflows can lead to costly, labor-intensive manual rescans.
The Problem
Manual QC creates rescan delays.
The Solution
closes the loop.
Core Capabilities
Analyzes whole-slide images in seconds and generates a pixel-level heatmap of clear and blurry zones.
Proposes focus points only where sample areas require additional review instead of scanning every field across heavy multi-layer Z-stacks.
Supports adjustable pass and fail thresholds for research workflows across Non-GYN, urine, thyroid, and cervical sample types.

Autonomous Closed-Loop Rescanning
When a slide falls outside configured quality criteria, ScanPilot communicates with the scanner to locate the slide, apply suggested focus points and scan profiles, and trigger a targeted rescan.

Labor Impact
Manual scan-and-QC work can require repeated operator intervention. The metrics below compare that workflow with an autonomous ScanPilot workflow and are qualified as internal workflow scenarios.
| Workflow Metric | Traditional Manual Scan and QC | With ScanPilot Autonomous QC |
|---|---|---|
| First-pass scan readiness | 60% baseline in an internal workflow scenario using default profiles. | >98% after autonomous QC and targeted rescan in an AIxMed internal workflow evaluation. |
| Operator time for 120 slides | 2.8 human hours spent manually setting focus points and inspecting scan quality. | 0 hands-on rescan hours after loading in the evaluated closed-loop workflow. |
| Digital-read readiness | Delayed by manual slide retrieval and morning rescan work. | Prepared before the review queue in the evaluated overnight workflow scenario. |
Performance and timing statements are based on AIxMed internal evaluation or workflow scenarios and may vary by sample type, scanner configuration, slide preparation, image quality criteria, and laboratory process. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
